Mardez is a guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer. Originally from Clovis, California, three days after high school graduation he moved to Dallas, TX. He lived across the street from popular blues bar, The Goat. Mardez honed his chops there with renowned musicians before moving to Austin, TX to play professionally and attend UT Austin. He started as a guitarist for local soul singer JJ Jones and then formed an original group shortly after. His originals are heavily influenced by funk, rock n roll, and Latin rhythms that create a unique blend of percussive dance beats, energetic bass lines, soulful vocals, and powerful guitar solos. Mardez also covers top 40 hits, Pop, funk, rock and R&B favorites such as songs from Bruno Mars, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Maroon 5, Lenny Kravitz, CCR, SRV, Stevie Wonder, and Eurythmics to name a few. He's shared the stage with reggae icons The Wailers, Gary Clark Jr., ABC, The Sweet, B-Side Players, Oingo Boingo, Peter Beckett of Player, Hells Belles, Bruno Mars Tribute (Locked Out Of Heaven), The Pat Benatar Experience, and Metalachi. He’s played hundreds of shows in the Southern, Western, and Eastern parts of the US along with multiple residencies on Austin’s world famous 6th Street and in Southern California. Mardez’s first single “Live on a Cloud” was released in 2019. The song was reviewed on indie music blogs and gained indie radio play regularly. He released his debut album titled Been There Before in 2021 with rave reviews from top music blogs and playlist curators. He’s been featured in Music Crowns, Mystic Sons, ihouseU, ROUGH, Rock Era Magazine, FAME Magazine, and FLEX music blog. In 2023 he started the Mardez Single Series releasing more singles including “Light It Up,” “Beautiful Road,” “Just Like The Weather,” “Cant Win You,” and “Call My Name” “and “Another One Of Those Nights,” “I Think I’m in Love,” and “Everything Can Go Wrong.” Mardez strives for a true and live Rock N Roll lifestyle so that that spirit reflects through his music and in every show he plays.
